Eve Medical Foundation

EVE Medical Foundation is a non-governmental organization established by HRH Lady Julia Osei Tutu to address health and mental issues of our “EVE’s” whom are our Ghanaian Women. Though many health conditions can be effectively treated at a relatively low cost, the gap between people needing care and those with access to care remains substantial. Effective treatment coverage remains extremely low, which calls for effective mental health legislation governance and infrastructure to ensure that sufferers are given the required minimum attention to heal and make them fully functional members of society.EVE is stepping forward to educate women on the prevalence of mental illness and the negative effect it has on women and their families, and the many resources available to help them receive the treatment they need to return to health. We presently have on our drawing board, a plan to build a Wellness and Psychiatric facility in collaboration with the KNUST in Kumasi, to cater for the middle belt and the Northern part of Ghana, and to create a safe haven for women living with mental illness and depression.
